The two major contenders in the September governorship election in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are to square up against each other in a gubernatorial debate.
The debate is scheduled for Sunday, September 4, and both Mr. Ize-Iyamu and Mr. Obaseki have confirmed their participation, according to the organizers, EiE statement issued on Friday.
EiE is co-hosting the event alongside Channels television.
Two other candidates, Amos Areloegbe and Onaiwu Osaro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Labour Party respectively, have also agreed to take part in the debate which will be shown live at 7pm on Channels Television.
Topics to be debated are unemployment, security and the economy.
