MASSOB Plans ‘Peaceful’ Rally To Mark 17th Anniversary

The Movement for the actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra {MASSOB} says it will hold a peaceful rally on wednesday to mark its 17th anniversary.

The group’s religious administrator, Apostle Ezichukwu made this known while speaking with newsmen in Onitsha on Monday 12, 2016.

He promised that during the march, participants would not trouble anybody or disrupt peoples’ business, but urged the govt not to use its security operatives to hamper the event.

Ezichukwu, who reiterated that the rally would not be violent, urged the residents as well as traders and civil servants to go about their normal daily activities.

He said that the struggle of Ralph Uwazuilke-led MASSOB, now referred to as Biafra independent Movement (BIM), did not promote violence.

We have warned members against any violent behavior,” he said.

“The rally is going to be peaceful and there will be no sit-at-home.”

Ezichukwu added that the group was working towards non-violence self-determination for the people.

“We have been marginalized for years in a nation we believed we helped to build and may be a part of.

“MASSOB faithful are in a two-day prayer to ensure free celebration, he added
