Nigeria More Divided Under APC Than During Civil War – Dokpesi

The aspirant for the national chairman of the Peoples democratic party (PDP), Chief Raymond Dokpesi, had said that Nigeria is additional separated in the current regime of the All Progressives Congress (APC) than during the civil war.

Speaking with newsmen at a PDP rally in Marmara, Nasarawa state, on Saturday 27, 2016 Chief Dokpesi said, unlike PDP, APC has failed to put the country together.

He described the opposition party, PDP as the solely party capable of uniting the country and resuscitating its failing economy.

“We should be very very hopeful, we must look to the future with a great deal of prayers,” he said at the rally, held at the behest of Walid Jubril, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party board of trustees.

“I have confidence that PDP is the only party which will provide the support that can give a rejuvenation of the Nigerian sick economy, which can really deal with the problems of unity and stability.

This country is more divided currently than it had been during the civil war.” he added

He told the crowd that Nigerians would have a much better country once PDP returns to power in 2019.

Also speaking, Jubril demanded unity within the party. He said the party needed to come back to terms with its current state of affairs, and work towards achieving peace and re-positioning itself for future election victories.

To attain this, Jubril said the party should avoid its culture of exemption and imposition of candidates. He charged members to subject themselves to the need of the party.

Our party has to run away fully from impunity,” he added.

“We have to be able to accept the truth of the situation that we are in today and ditch all our differences and make sure that this party remains the undefeatable party.”
