Rivers Re-Run Election: INEC Declares PDP Winner

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the re- run election for Etche/omuma federal constituency of Rivers State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for Etche/Omuma Federal Constituency election, Professor Shola Omotola, declared the results at INEC office in Port Harcourt, River State Capital.

Prof. Omotola announced that the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 6,220 votes while PDP polled 15,221 votes.

For the Etche State Constituency 2, the Returning Officer, Oluwatosin Odusonya, announced that APC scored 1,618 votes, while PDP polled 4,162 votes.

The announcement brought to an end the drama that characterised the announcement of the re- run election results.

The election brings to end, the scheduled re-run elections in the Rivers States,

Court had nullified the 2015 legislative election held in the State and ordered re- run.
